  the Khumbu Glacier has retreated so much that most of what is seen today is a long undulating sea of rocks left behind after the glacier had retreated

  an easy scramble up the ridge on an indistinct trail and soon the summit of Awi Peak is reached

  undisturbed by the usual hoards of trekking tourist, Awi Peak is a great place to find solitude with a great view of the rising Khumbu Valley and it's surround mountainous wall
