heading for the pass
so near yet so far... the pass was just ahead, but the climb to it seems like eternity
kitchen crew
the strong kitchen team with their heavy burdens overtook us in no time
nature's artwork
crevasses near the pass top form the most intricate patterns
giant kuay lapis
like a giant maze, the route towards the pass top zig-zags amongst these dangerous giant icy cracks
rope climb
ropes came in handy to aid in our ascend up to the pass top at the more vertical sections of the crevasse climb
atop the ampulapcha
reaching the pass top at 1400 hrs and staying up here for more than two hours... admiring the wonders of the mountains beyond

at the pass top
Susan taking in the view (and more air into her lungs) as she rest upon reaching the pass top
wearing harness
the girls donning on their harnesses in preparation of the technical descend
going down
Assim and Dalbhadur helping the team down the more difficult sections of the descend
evening light
the Amphu basin just below the north side of the pass gets very little daylight as the walls surrounding it are high
