  off to chhukung
our day's hike to Chhukung starts by backtracking towards the outlet of the Imja Tsho

  porters'rest
even our strong porters need a rest every once in a while

  yak caravan
the very established trail from Chhukung to Island Peak sees much more traffic than that from Ampulapcha, with yak caravans being a possible option

  imja khola
just beyond the outlet from Imja Tsho, the infant Imja Khola meanders down

  ridge walk
the trail to Chhukung follows the ridge top of the Lhoste Glacier lateral moraine

  washing
with a good flowing stream nearby, Chhukung is an excellent stop to catch up on our laundry needs

  picturesque
solid and liquid water intertwined in beautiful rhapsody

  arrival
arriving at Chhukung... our first populated settlement since Khare some two weeks ago

  individual body maintenance
a chance for the much needed personal maintenance

  drying out
taking opportunity of the abundant water and good sunshine to do our laundry

  1st beer
a happy David cerebrating with his very first beer in a long time

  sharing
Germaine sharing the photos from David's camera with the owner of the lodge

  dusk
the mist covering the surrounding peaks as the sun sets behind the mountains

  warmth
the porters huddle around a campfire for warmth... it was still very cold here in Chhukung despite the lower altitude
