  leaving Thangnak, we headed across the rocky moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier

  crossing the Ngozumpa Glacier was no easy walk, with many peaks and troughs to negotiate

  there are a few frozen glacier lakes still left within the moraine of the retreated Ngozumpa Glacier

  view towards Taboche Tsho or more commonly referred to as the second lake of Gokyo

  defacing the natural rock is a cheap and easy way to advertise  
  
  
   
  approaching paradise  
  the settlement of Gokyo is situated in a most scenic site, with a foreground of Dudh Pokhari a turquoise alpine lake, and a backdrop of high mountains including the view to Cho Oyu

  Gokyo Resort is luxurious for a mountain tea lodge... proper bedding, carpeted floors, hooks for jackets, electrical lighting for the rooms
