  to the upper lakes  
  following the lateral moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier up valley to the famed upper lakes of the Gokyo Valley

  Ngozumpa Tsho (4990 m)... the fifth lake of Gokyo; most trekkers end their exploration of the valley at this lake

  the top of the lateral moraine ridge at the fifth lake offers an excellent view of the Gaunar Valley, with views towards the two pointed peaks of Cholo (6089 m) and Kangchung Peak (6063 m), and to the Everest and Nuptse massives in the distance

  as we got nearer to the sixth lake, the landscape started changing to one of snow and ice

  Gyazumpa Tsho (5170 m) is the rarely visited 6th lake of Gokyo, and just beyond it is the base camp of Cho Oyu
