Tower of Gold

Located inside the Royal Palace compound, it was here that the king was worshipped. It must originally have been crowned with a golden pinnacle, as it was described as the 'Tower of Gold'.

Secret Corridors

Legend has it that the golden tower crowning the temple was inhabited by a nine-headed serpent-spirit, which would transform into a woman. The kings of Angkor were required to make love with the serpent every night in the tower before he could join his wives and concubines. If the king missed even one night, disaster will befall him or the kingdom.

Mountaineering

The lack of surviving carvings leaves the temple artistically uninteresting, but it is the tallest scalable temple in Angkor Thom.
