The clear white 'sand' on Lily Beach is actually formed from centuries of coral rubble being deposited on the shore through the constanly repeating wave action and pounding swells from the ocean. The sea here can be rather rough, as wind builds up large specatcular surfs that repeatedly crash onto the submerged rocks just beyond the beach. It is because of these submerged rocks that act as a breakwater, thus preventing the strong waves from washing people out to the open sea, but extreme care should still be taken while swimming here.

Lily Beach is set in a very picturisque location, being flanked on both sides by tall cliffs, and a rentlessly pounding surf and the deepest blue seas beyond.
