The North West Point is probably one of the least visited parts of the island. With no access roads, getting there is an adventure on its own, requiring a drive through an overgrown forest track beyond the Detention Center, and an arduous trek down from the inland plateau to the coastal terrace at North West Point. This steep trek passes through a spectacular chasm with high limestone walls on both sides.

The coastal terrace at North West Point is home to a small nesting colony of Lesser Frigatebirds (Fregata ariel), and is also one of the few remaining places on the island where the Blue-tailed Skink (Crytptoblepharus egeriae) can be found.
